Leaf Me Alone

I spent the weekend raking leaves. Enough! I don't which day was worse Saturday in the pouring rain or Sunday with high winds that blustered about my newly raked piles. Each day was an exercise in futility.

Anyway, I now have 25 neatly stacked bags awaiting recycling day. I'm done till next year.

Speaking of "exercise in futility", I'm off to my winter bootcamp. Running around the parking lot in 30 degree weather is not my idea of fun. Oh well!

We don't have a tree but since we live on a corner, the leaves all whirlwind themselves into the lee side of the building. No fair that I have to bag up other people's leaves, lol.

My chestnut trees start to turn in August for some reason so they are bare by late September. Now the neighbors huge elms are blowing around everywhere. Some neighbors have cut down all their trees altogether which I hate. I never could understand people stressing out over leaves in the fall.

I noticed the same here this weekend, people at the car wash trying to get rid of the ash while the winds blew even more ash onto their cars. It's a Catch-22.

I can so relate to the raking. I don't have to bag but just dump the leaves on the parkway and wait for the Village to come by and suck them up. And luckily the back yard is fenced in so the neighbors don't rely on their leaves to blow into my yard. Try the running in your birthday suit. That may make it fun. ;-)
