Busy Saving Money

A Recent Coupon Extravaganza - 78%  Off!

I'm treating coupon as a part-time job. Above is a recent run at Walgreen's where I stocked up on some non-perishables. In fact, I maxed out the store's coupon policy. I still had $8 more to go but had exceeded the allowable coupons per item. I'm still learning. $19.85 on nearly $90 worth of stuff isn't too bad.

I work nights at CVS. You wouldn't believe all the people that have notebooks filled with ads, coupons, etc. They come in overnight so they can have the run of the store without all the daytime drama. They leave with a hundred dollars worth of stuff for $10 or even free sometimes. I don't have the time or the concentration for all the effort that they put into it. But it can save a lot of money!

The more you spend, the more you save! (one of my favorite expressions).

Super! I'm a big fan of taking advantage of my local supermarkets sales. I save a LOAD every week. I love it! What's really great about it is that all the items I buy are items I would buy anyway. I don't use coupons because they're usually for items I would buy and when I do buy them with coupons I still don't use them. So I wait for the store sales. That's where I make out like a BANDIT!

I bother with coupons for items I use like cleaning products, paper products, and dairy items. I use very little prepared, canned or frozen foods. What I do save lots on is gasoline. My market has a program where every dollar you spend equals 1 point. 100 points = 10 cents off per gallon at the pump. They run weekly specials where purchasing 3 specific items can result in an additional 400 points. I just filled up my car and saved 70 cents per gallon. A savings of about $6.00 for me.

You're good! Real good.
